Camp Overview:

Introduction to Autonomous Mobile Robotics skill for youth ages 11 - 18 years via in-person instruction, demonstrations, hands-on activities and exercises.

General Objectives:

Learners will develop their knowledge and skills in the following areas of work:

  • Robotics

  • Autonomous Mobile Robotics (AMR)

  • AMR Design

  • AMR Operation

  • Coding / Programming

  • Arduino Coding / Programming Language

  • AMR Programming

Learning Outcomes:

Learners who complete this course will be able to:

• Define Robotics and AMR

• Identify Robots and AMR

• Identify AMR

• Discover AMR Applications

• Practice Basic AMR Operation

• Learn and Practice Arduino-C (Text) Coding / Programming

• Program AMR with Python

• Complete AMR Activities and Exercises (Remote and Autonomous)

• Discuss AMR at an intermediate level

Pre-Requisites:

Minimum Systems Requirements (Computer / Laptop)

Some prior experience in text-coding required. e.g. (Pascal, Python, C++, etc.)

  • Operating System: Windows 10 or higher, 64-bit operating system

  • Processor: Intel Core i7 / AMD Ryzen 7 or higher

  • Graphics Processor: Integrated or higher

  • RAM: 8.00 GB or higher

  • Camera: Yes

  • WiFi Capability: Yes

  • Bluetooth Capability: Yes

  • USB 2.0 or higher (x2)

  • Storage: 320GB or higher

  • Tello Mobile App (Android or Apple), Tello EDU Mobile App (Android or Apple)

Benefits:

Individuals who complete this camp will have a hands-on introduction to two (2) of the most important and popular technologies as well as skills to date. Robotics via AMR Robotics and Programming (Coding) via the well known, high level language Arduino-C. A good foundation for potential STEM professionals and young hobbyists.
